Amistad NRA Natural Resource Management Internship

The National Park Service intends to award a single-source justified cooperative agreement to the American Conservation Experience (ACE) for the Amistad NRA Natural Resource Management Internship project. The project's goals and objectives include mentoring the next generation of conservation professionals, working on conservation projects, and participating in the park's Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention Program. The project's scope of work includes assisting in designing, developing, testing, and implementing scientific monitoring protocols, collecting field data, applying pesticides, and providing information to visitors. • The project's anticipated period of performance is from September 1, 2019, to October 31, 2020. • The total anticipated award amount is $72,233, with $53,300 in federal funding and $21,795 in non-federal cost sharing. • The recipient will be responsible for recruiting and hiring a young adult from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds to work with NPS staff on resource management conservation projects. • The NPS will provide meaningful conservation assignments, project direction, and training to the participant.
