The City of Brookings, SD is soliciting a multidisciplinary professional team to provide full‑service design, engineering, bidding, and construction‑administration for the Downtown Armory Site Community Space Redevelopment. The consultant will develop final design documents, manage historic preservation requirements, conduct public engagement, prepare construction‑ready documents, assist with competitive bidding, and oversee construction administration, including demolition of the existing armory and integration of historic elements into a new “third‑space” park. Optional water‑feature design may be added for a separate fee. The schedule is tightly linked to a historic review process that could take up to eight months, with key milestones spanning from October 2026 (submission) through spring 2027 (final design) and construction thereafter.
• Full‑service professional design, engineering, bidding and construction‑admin for a downtown park and armory demolition
• Multidisciplinary scope: landscape architecture, urban design, civil/structural/MEP engineering, historic preservation, public art, ADA compliance
• Required public engagement (open house, stakeholder meetings) and coordination with historic review agencies
