WA State Parks 75’ MV Thunderbird 2026 Repair

The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide repair of the 75’ MV Thunderbird vessel. The vessel is used for maintenance operations and may also play a safety and rescue role. The work must be completed by June 30, 2026, and the vessel must be operational by July 15, 2026. The contractor will be required to furnish all materials, labor, and equipment necessary for the completion of the work, except for materials and equipment specifically stated as being furnished by the owner. The contractor must be registered to do business in the state of Washington and must obtain a Universal Business Identifier (UBI) number within 24 hours of being awarded the contract. Key aspects of the job include: • Drydocking and refloating the vessel • Surface preparation, including inspection and potential steel renewal • Coating application • Structure renewal, including cropping and replacing steel where necessary • Moorage and temporary services The proposal will be evaluated based on factors including qualifications, capabilities, experience, and rate schedules.
