The City of Joplin is receiving sealed bids for the asbestos removal and demolition of a building located at 119 1/2 S. Moffet Ave. The scope of work includes providing onsite monitoring of the demolition, removing the east wall to access materials, and leaving intact certain portions of the walls for retaining wall support. The successful bidder must comply with all municipal codes and state regulatory requirements, including notification of the City of Joplin building division and proper disposal of asbestos materials. • The bid must include an hourly rate for providing the service and a dollar amount for container, transportation, and disposal costs. • The bid must also include notification of regular services that may be interrupted during the demolition. • The contractor must be licensed, bonded, and insured as a contractor of the City of Joplin, Missouri. • The Planning & Community Development Manager reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to accept the lowest or best bid.
