Description
The City of Santee is seeking a qualified general contractor to execute a comprehensive pavement repair and rehabilitation program across the city in 2026. The work includes full‑depth asphalt patching (2‑, 3‑, and 4‑inch repairs), cold‑milling edge grinding and header cuts, installation of pavement fabric, a 2‑inch asphalt overlay, concrete curbs, gutters, sidewalks, pedestrian ramps, driveway work, utility relocation/mark‑out, pull‑box installation, petromat disposal, geotechnical testing, water‑pollution control BMPs, striping, traffic‑control planning, and associated site‑preparation activities. The contract is a firm‑fixed‑price, public‑works award valued at roughly the engineer’s estimate of $3.2 M, with bids expected to be lower (the lowest submitted bid was ~$1.85 M). The contractor must provide a 10 % bid guarantee, 100 % performance and payment bonds, maintain prevailing‑wage compliance, and complete the work within 60 working days after receiving the Notice to Proceed.
