Highgate Springs Land Port of Entry Art in Architecture

The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) is seeking an artist to create a publicly scaled and permanently installed artwork for the modernized Land Port of Entry in Highgate Springs, Vermont. The art budget for this project is estimated to be between $400,000 to $500,000. The selected artist will be required to collaborate with the lead designer, travel to the project site, develop and present preliminary and final concepts, fabricate the artwork, and participate in meetings and conservation reviews as necessary. The scope of services for this commission includes: • Collaboration with the lead designer • Travel to the project site • Development and presentation of preliminary and final concepts • Fabrication of the artwork • Participation in meetings and conservation reviews • Delivery and installation of the artwork • Professional documentation of, and detailed maintenance planning for the artwork The GSA will prioritize the commission of works of art that portray historically significant Americans or events of American historical significance or illustrate the ideals upon which our Nation was founded.
