The USDA National Centers for Animal Health (NCAH) in Ames, IA, is seeking repairs to six hoop buildings (H1-H6) that were damaged by windstorms. The scope of work includes providing reports on additional repairs identified, if any. The contractor will be responsible for repairing various components, including panel replacements, equipment and material clearance, and angle pipe and saddle brackets. The contractor must have at least 5 years of experience repairing commercial hoop buildings.
Some key points to consider:
• The contractor must provide all materials, access, and labor to install diagonal braces on the West end of Building H6.
• The USDA will move equipment outside the rear end wall of Building H3 so the rear end wall system can be replaced.
• Fabric hole patches shall be two-sided (inside and outside of hole) and extend 2” beyond the perimeter of the hole location.
• The contractor must follow the inspection checklist for hoop buildings provided in attachment 7.
