Description
The City of Detroit is seeking approved demolition companies to provide the demolition of blighted commercial structures. The scope of services includes pre-demolition due diligence, demolition and debris removal, transport, and disposal, backfill and grading, and site finalization. The contractor must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, authorities, and rules, and ensure that all assigned personnel possess working knowledge of all applicable industry standards and best practices. The contractor must also provide all necessary equipment and materials to execute the services safely, efficiently, and effectively.
Some key aspects of the scope of services include:
* Pre-demolition site visit to verify that all safely accessible hazardous/regulated materials were abated or removed from the site
* Demolition of structures using wetting and dust control equipment
* Removal of debris and transport to a licensed Type II landfill
* Backfill and grading of the site to conform to any adjoining sidewalks, alleys, and properties
* Request for Open Hole Inspection and Winter or Final Grade Inspection
* Seeding and establishment of turf on the assigned site
* Replacement of sidewalks damaged during the services
The contractor must submit a request for payment in the form and manner prescribed by the Owner, and the request for payment must include all supporting documentation required or requested by the Owner.
