CO NP BLCA 10(1) South Rim Drive

The National Park Service (NPS) is seeking qualified prime contractors for the South Rim Drive Improvement project. The project involves removing roadside hazards and installing modern, crash-tested safety barriers along South Rim Drive. The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to execute guardrail removal, site preparation, and installation across twelve distinct locations. The project includes selective boulder removal and dispersal, site grading and base preparation, specialized guardrail procurement and installation, and traffic control and sequencing. • The project requires the removal of 115 boulders and 475 linear feet of guardrail. • The contractor must supply and install 4,100 linear feet of steel guardrail system. • The project includes traffic control and sequencing to accommodate construction activities while maintaining safety for park staff and public visitors. • The estimated bid range for the project is between $700,000 and $2,000,000. • The project is expected to start in early April 2027 and be completed by late May 2027.
