Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a semi-automatic cart washer/dryer system for the Lake City VA Medical Center. The system must be able to wash and dry heavily soiled plastic and fiberglass laundry/linen carts with minimal water remaining inside the cart. The system must also be able to wash and dry a minimum of 20 carts per hour. The contractor will be responsible for delivering and installing the system, as well as providing training to VA personnel. The contract duration is 195 days.
• The system must be designed to prevent activation of the door with personnel inside.
• The system must have a color touch-screen programmable control system display.
• The system must have a LED service light to illuminate the interior during the wash/dry cycles.
• The system must have a LED beacon rotary light to identify the end of the drying cycle and discharge of the cart for the hearing impaired.
• The system must be equipped with a safety lock disconnect to prevent activation of the door with personnel inside.
• The system must be designed with Ultra-Violet (UV) lighting in the wash chamber to eliminate bacteria during the cycle.
• The system must have windows on the doors with Ultra-Violet (UV) coating to protect workers from light exposure.
