POLISHED CONCRETE FLOORING

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is seeking bids for a project to convert approximately 1,750 sq. ft. of existing VCT-tiled floor at the Lovell WYDOT facility into a Salt & Pepper, Satin/Honed mechanically polished concrete surface. The project involves multiple steps, including surface preparation, tile removal, wall base and moulding installation, remediation and repairs, polishing, and chemical treatments. The finished floor must be dust-proof, slip-resistant, and chemically hardened. • The project requires a multi-step mechanical refinement process, including grinding, honing, and polishing. • The contractor must apply a High-Solids Lithium Silicate Densifier and a high-performance Penetrating Stain Guard. • The finished floor must meet a minimum DCOF (Dynamic Coefficient of Friction) of 0.42 or higher. • All grinding must be performed using HEPA-filtered vacuum systems to maintain a dust-free environment.
