The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District, is conducting research to determine the market capabilities of potential contractors to construct a SOF Ammo Supply Point. The project involves constructing an Operational Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) to provide safe storage and assembly areas for ammunition. The ASP will include primary facilities such as Ammunition Storage and Small Arms Warehouse, as well as supporting facilities like Covered/Open Storage Pads, Fire Suppression Facility, Gatehouse, Access Road, Perimeter Road Hardening, loading docks, lighting and cameras on all security fencing required for perimeter roads and access roads, lightning protection on all concrete pads and structures, and tank trail for realignment around ASP. Other facilities will include Earth Covered Magazines, Covered/Open Storage Pads, Ammunition Holding Area, Charge Construction Facility, Residue Processing Building, and Vehicle Scales. The project will also include built-in building systems such as fire alarm/mass notification, fire suppression, energy management control, telephone and advanced unclassified and classified communications networks, cable TV, intrusion detection, closed circuit surveillance, and electronic access control systems and a hardened protected distribution system.
• The project will be designed and constructed in accordance with federal laws and Executive Orders, including Department of Defense principles for high performance and sustainable building requirements.
• Low Impact Development features will be included in the design and construction of the project as appropriate.
