Description

The City of San Antonio is seeking qualified contractors to upgrade flood‑management equipment at the San Antonio River Tunnel Inlet Facility, part of the SARTI & SARTO flood‑bypass system. The work is limited to the inlet site and includes replacement or repair of vertical pumps and electrical service‑entrance cabinets that control water flow through the tunnel. This is an annual contract, implying recurring maintenance or service over a 12‑month period. • Supply, install, and commission vertical flood‑control pumps. • Provide or replace electrical service‑entrance cabinets housing control and power equipment. • Perform on‑site testing, integration with existing flood‑bypass controls, and documentation of work performed. • Must attend an optional pre‑bid Webex session (May 5) and optional site‑visit (May 5) for clarification. • Bids due May 22, 2026; contract will be an annual service agreement.

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $1,000,000

The solicitation does not disclose a budget. Similar municipal flood‑facility upgrade contracts in Texas typically range from a few hundred thousand dollars for equipment replacement and installation up to about one million dollars for more extensive pump and control system work. Assuming mid‑range equipment costs, labor, testing, and a 12‑month service period, an estimate of $200,000 – $1,000,000 is reasonable. Factors influencing the final amount include the number and capacity of pumps needed, any required civil‑structure modifications, and the level of ongoing maintenance included in the annual contract.
