The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Foreign Agricultural Service, is announcing the 2025 Foreign Market Development Cooperator Program to support the development of foreign markets for U.S. agricultural commodities and products. The program will provide funding to nonprofit U.S. agricultural trade organizations to create, expand, and maintain long-term export markets. Eligible applicants must be nonprofit U.S. agricultural trade organizations that promote the exports of one or more U.S. agricultural commodities and do not have a business interest in or receive remuneration from specific sales of agricultural commodities. The program will provide funding for a period of three years, with a total available federal funding of $34.5 million.
Key aspects of the program include:
* Creating, expanding, and maintaining long-term export markets for U.S. agricultural commodities and products
* Providing cost-share assistance to eligible applicants
* Requiring applicants to contribute resources to their proposed promotional activities
* Requiring applicants to submit a marketing plan, Standard Form 424, and other documentation
* Evaluating applications based on factors such as the applicant's contribution level, past U.S. export performance, and future demand expansion goals
