Demolition of 345/347 51st Street

The City of Newport News is seeking quotes from qualified firms to provide demolition services for the structure at 345/347 51st Street. The contractor will be responsible for removal and legal disposal of all asbestos-containing material, personal property, and debris, as well as clearing, grading, and seeding of the areas disturbed. The project must be completed within 30 business days from the date of "Notice to Proceed". The city reserves the right to conduct tests and evaluations, and to reject any or all quotes. • The project involves demolition of a structure at 345/347 51st Street, Newport News, VA 23607. • The contractor must have the capability to fully perform the services and have the experience necessary to assure good faith performance of the contract. • The city's construction standards, which are a modified version of the HRPDC Regional Construction Standards, will be provided in Section 7, Attachments. • The contractor must maintain adequate liability insurance and provide proof of insurance prior to commencement of services. • The city reserves the right to require the successful contractor to provide a performance bond and labor and material payment bond before award of this project.
