This project aims to train nine Greening Youth interns to provide support for facilities, collections, and interpretation/education programs and events at three park units: Tuskegee Institute, Tuskegee Airmen, and Selma to Montgomery National Historic Trail. The project's goal is to provide opportunities for young adults to learn about the nation's resources and become involved in natural, cultural, and historical resource protection. The interns will work on various tasks, including assisting with writing project descriptions, providing support to curatorial staff, and helping with interpretive and education staff for special programs and events.
• The project will provide exposure to park and exhibit maintenance, work order assessment and creation, interpretation and curatorial, and special projects and activities.
• The interns will work 40 hours a week and will be provided with uniforms, transportation, stipend, and other allowances.
• The project will support the parks' Collections Management Program and will provide opportunities for the interns to learn about the nation's resources and become involved in their protection.
• The National Park Service will provide financial assistance, orientation to park operations, and an on-site project coordinator to work with the interns.
