Description

The United States Department of War, AEDC Program Management Office, is conducting market research to identify existing solid rocket motors (SRMs) that can be used for sled testing at the Holloman High Speed Test Track (HHSTT). The primary goal is to leverage readily available SRMs to reduce operational and acquisition costs and schedules. The SRMs should meet the requirements for four thrust classes: Small, Medium, Large, and High Performing. Respondents are requested to provide information on their existing SRMs, including company information, technical and performance compliance, structural capability assessment, production and availability, and data rights. Some key requirements for the SRMs include: • Average thrust range: 37-60 Klb for Small, 60-80 Klb for Medium, 80-200 Klb for Large, and ≥139 Klb for High Performing • Burn time: ≤2.0 seconds for Small, ≤2.4 seconds for Medium, ≤2.5 seconds for Large, and ≤1.543 seconds for High Performing • Total impulse: 74-120 Klb*s for Small, 144-192 Klb*s for Medium, 200-500 Klb*s for Large, and ≥214 Klb*s for High Performing • Diameter and length: specific ranges for each thrust class • Pre-fire and post-fire weights: specific ranges for each thrust class

Budget estimate

$1,000,000 – $10,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as the document does not provide information on the contract value or the number of SRMs required. However, considering the complexity and specificity of the requirements, it is likely that the contract value will be substantial. A rough estimate could be in the range of $1 million to $10 million, depending on the number of SRMs required and the production costs. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the production costs, the number of SRMs required, and the complexity of the requirements.
