Aerospace Systems Technical Research & Operations Support Services II (ASTROS II)

The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) is conducting market research for the follow-on effort to the current ASTROS contract, which provides technical research and operation services for rocket test stands and facility operations. The contractor will be responsible for designing, building, modifying, and operating test facilities, as well as performing research and development test operations. The scope of work includes liquid rocket engine test stands, solid rocket motor test stands, and hybrid propulsion testing. The contractor must have experience with multi-million-dollar build-up/modification of rocket test stands and facility operations. Key aspects of the job include: • Designing, building, and modifying test facilities • Performing research and development test operations • Operating and maintaining test facilities • Handling and storing propellants and explosives • Ensuring safety and security compliance The contract is expected to be a 10-year contract with a three-year base period, a three-year first option, and a four-year second option. The contractor must have a comprehensive security program in place and maintain a favorable National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) clearance.
