Description

NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center seeks technical and engineering support for the VASI (Venus Atmospheric Structure Investigation) accelerometers and angular‑rate sensors. The effort will be performed off‑site by the selected contractor and will include engineering assistance, integration, testing, and coordination through a kickoff event and seven technical exchange meetings over a 14‑month period. The work is targeted at a sole‑source award to Honeywell International Inc, but capability statements are being collected to evaluate competition. • Provide engineering analysis, design assistance, and technical support for VASI accelerometers and gyros. • Coordinate with NASA staff for integration, testing, and documentation throughout the contract. • Attend a kickoff and seven scheduled Technical Exchange Meetings (TEM) during the 14‑month performance window. • Deliver all work from the vendor’s location; no on‑site work at NASA facilities required.

Budget estimate

$1,000,000 – $2,000,000

No budget is disclosed. Typical NASA engineering contracts for specialized sensor support of this scope (approximately one year of effort) range from $1 million to $2 million, depending on labor rates, staffing levels, and any travel or material reimbursements. A mid‑range estimate assumes a small team of senior engineers and support staff working at standard federal contracting rates.
