Automated Celestial Navigation System (ACNS) Production

The U.S. Navy is issuing a Sources Sought notice (RFI) to gather market information for an Automated Celestial Navigation System (ACNS) that will provide an alternative positioning source for surface ships, enhancing resilience of the PNT suite. Respondents must describe system and component characteristics, integration with existing navigation sensors, environmental compliance, development timelines, cost and schedule drivers, and willingness to share proprietary technology under Government Purpose Rights. The response must be no more than fifteen pages (excluding cover) and submitted by the specified deadline. • Provide average position fix accuracy, operational capabilities (day/night), ephemeris data age, and fix frequency. • Detail sensor volume, weight, MIL‑STD compliance, and integration interfaces with GPNTS. • Outline development timeline, cost drivers, risk areas, and ability to work from Level III Technical Data Packages.
