Description

The Program to End Modern Slavery (PEMS) aims to reduce the prevalence of human trafficking in targeted populations through innovative interventions driven by research, monitoring, evaluation, and learning, and the expansion of partnerships. The TIP Office is interested in funding research and implementation projects focused on five priority areas: Supply Chains, Climate Change and Displacement, Public Health, Financial Inclusion, and Sex Trafficking. Key aspects of the program include: • Conducting scientifically rigorous research to establish evidence on the effects of anti-trafficking programs • Advancing sound prevalence measurement methodologies, strong monitoring and evaluation practices, evidence-based programming, and the application of victim-centered and trauma-informed approaches • Encouraging partnerships with governments, academia, civil society, the private sector, other funders, and international organizations • Releasing a Statement of Interest (SOI) and a Notification of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) in the future

Budget estimate

$1,000,000 – $25,000,000

Based on the document, the U.S. Congress has appropriated $25 million annually for PEMS since Fiscal Year (FY) 2016, totaling $150 million to date. Assuming the program will continue to receive similar funding, the estimated budget range for this opportunity could be between $1 million to $25 million, considering the funding will be awarded to one or more organizations through a competitive process.
