PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT FOR RFQ-26-104-Design Build for Walker Annex Remodel

The Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind (FSDB) is seeking a Design-Build firm to renovate the Walker Annex building. The project involves a full interior remodel, reconfiguration of administrative, educational, media, and library spaces, replacement and upgrade of HVAC, lighting, fire protection, and technology systems, and new finishes throughout. The Design-Build team will validate and refine the building program in coordination with stakeholders and advance the project from bridging/criteria documents to a complete design and construction solution. • The project requires careful phasing, safety, and security coordination as it will occur on an active campus. • The selected firm will be responsible for providing design and construction services under one contract. • The FSDB will evaluate the qualifications of the responding firms based on their experience, knowledge, skills, and accomplishments. • The selection process will involve a six-step process, including a public announcement, qualification and certification of firms, selection of certified qualified firms, release of the Design Criteria Package, proposal presentations, and selection of a firm for negotiations.
