Description

The Florida Gaming Control Commission (FGCC) is seeking to purchase TASER 10 Conducted Energy Weapons, accessories, and software from Axon Enterprises, Inc. The purchase is intended to provide certified law enforcement Special Agents with a less-lethal option for use in high-risk enforcement units. The TASER 10 CEW is a multi-shot energy weapon with a detachable magazine and provides a high-efficiency flashlight, a green LASER sight, and a central information display. The purchase includes the TASER Weapons Docking System, which connects to the AXON Evidence.Com system for digital evidence management purposes. • The estimated dollar amount for the purchase is $117,992.22. • The purchase is justified due to Axon Enterprises, Inc.'s proprietary rights to all TASER brand products and its status as the sole manufacturer, distributor, and retailer of all TASER brand products in the State of Florida. • The TASER is considered the leader in conducted energy weapons (CEW) due to its technology, reliability, safety, research, and institutional adoption. • The purchase is intended to strengthen agent safety, improve less-lethal effectiveness, and align the FGCC Division of Gaming Enforcement’s equipment and training with modern law enforcement standards.
