The Sandia National Laboratories is seeking information from the U.S. sCO2 power cycle industry on recommendations for sCO2 component development, test rigs, and/or facilities needed to expedite the commercialization of sCO2 technology. The laboratory has expertise and capabilities in the development of sCO2 recuperated closed Brayton cycle systems up to 1 MWth, which can be leveraged to enable U.S. manufacturers to develop marketable system components.
• The laboratory has developed a laboratory-scale test assembly to establish the viability of the underlying science and demonstrate system performance.
• The test assembly has successfully operated in different configurations and tested additives to the sCO2 working fluid.
• Challenges remain to confirm the viability of existing components, demonstrate theoretical efficiencies, and integrate and scale up existing technologies for commercial applications.
• The laboratory is seeking information on the technical problem and proposed solution, the need for Sandia National Laboratories' expertise and resources, and the relevant experience and capabilities of the interested party.
