Description
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is seeking capability statements from all interested parties for the Atmosphere Discipline Node of the Planetary Data System (PDS). The PDS is a system of Discipline Nodes that ensures the long-term secure preservation of NASA planetary science data and maintains its usability. The Atmosphere Discipline Node will provide science data services, including ingesting non-imaging atmospheric data, validating data submissions, and providing expertise to guide and assist missions, instrument teams, programs, and individuals. The Node will also maintain tools to assist data providers in assembling, validating, and submitting archival products, and will provide value-added services to aid in searching and discovering archive products.
• Ingesting non-imaging atmospheric data from currently observing planetary missions and research scientists
• Validating data submissions and designating Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for datasets
• Providing expertise to guide and assist missions, instrument teams, programs, and individuals
• Maintaining tools to assist data providers in assembling, validating, and submitting archival products
• Providing value-added services to aid in searching and discovering archive products
