4 Hydraulic Elevator Upgrades

The University of Louisville’s Physical Plant Department is seeking a qualified contractor to modernize four hydraulic elevators—two passenger elevators on the Belknap Campus and two freight elevators at the Health Sciences Campus. The work includes full removal, disposal, and replacement of mechanical and electrical components, door equipment, car and hall fixtures, hydraulic pumps, controllers, and associated wiring, using only non‑proprietary equipment unless otherwise approved. The contractor must provide all labor, materials, supervision, permits, testing, and a 12‑month warranty, and must coordinate closely with university work‑control, fire‑protection, and safety offices. • Replace hydraulic pumps, controllers, door operators, and related electrical systems per detailed specifications (Exhibit A). • Perform interior cab refurbishment (painting, flooring, LED lighting, ADA‑phone installation) and machine‑room upgrades. • Deliver complete documentation, training, and as‑built drawings; comply with OSHA, Kentucky building codes, and university construction guidelines (Exhibit C, F, G). • Meet a final completion deadline of December 18 2026 (extended to April 18 2027 for substantial completion) with liquidated damages of $250 per day for delays.
