The Suwannee River Water Management District is inviting bids for the sale of timber on a 232-acre property in Columbia County, Florida. The sale consists of two harvest types: an unmarked logger select second thinning on 37 acres of 1988 planted slash pine, and a third-row logger select first thinning on 195 acres of 1990, 1992, and 1997 planted slash pine. The purchaser will be required to leave 50 square feet of basal area per acre of the largest, best-formed trees in all residual stands. The contract will be for a period of 12 months, and the bidder will be required to pay an advance payment of $20,000 and a damage deposit of $10,000.
• The sale area can be inspected at the bidder's convenience
• The harvest boundaries are shown on the map
• Loaded trucks may not use the bridge across Little Suwannee Creek
• The purchaser will be responsible for roads and road maintenance during the harvest
• The logging slash will be scattered back through the stand
