Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is soliciting investigator-initiated research proposals to evaluate programs and policies for the primary prevention of child sexual abuse (CSA) and problematic sexual behavior (PSB) among youth. The research priorities include programs or policies focused on primary prevention of CSA or PSB in digital spaces, commercial sexual exploitation of children, and organizational policy approaches in youth-serving organizations. Some key points to consider include: * CSA is defined as sexual victimization during childhood perpetrated by an adult. * PSB is defined as sexual behaviors among children that are not developmentally appropriate and have the potential to cause harm. * Applicants must propose to rigorously evaluate a program or policy for primary prevention of CSA or PSB. * The estimated funding for this opportunity is $4,800,000, with an award ceiling of $400,000. * Eligible applicants include special district governments, nonprofits, for-profit organizations, small businesses, and others.
