Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is seeking research proposals to evaluate primary prevention-focused approaches to reduce suicide and interpersonal violence among youth and young adults. The proposed approaches can include programs, policies, or practices that reduce suicide-related outcomes, enhance social connectedness, or mitigate the impact of unhealthy behaviors in online spaces. The CDC will support the evaluation of existing primary prevention approaches that have not yet undergone rigorous evaluation. Some key aspects of the proposal include: • Reducing suicide-related outcomes by enhancing social connectedness and social cohesion at the community level • Reducing or mitigating the impact of unhealthy behaviors or experiences in online spaces on suicide-related outcomes • Evaluating approaches to reduce the incidence and/or harm caused by technology-facilitated forms of interpersonal violence

Budget estimate

$0 – $500,000

The estimated funding for this opportunity is $12,000,000, with an award ceiling of $500,000. The budget amount will depend on the specific proposal and the number of awards granted. The estimated funding and award amounts suggest that the budget could range from $0 to $500,000. However, since the award ceiling is $500,000 and the estimated funding is $12,000,000, it is likely that the actual budget will be lower than $500,000. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the number of applicants, the quality of the proposals, and the specific requirements of the project.
