Description

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking applications for the development of psychosocial therapeutic and preventive interventions for mental disorders. This initiative aims to speed the translation of emergent research in basic, behavioral, cognitive, affect, and neuropsychological science into preventative or therapeutic interventions. The program will provide up to two years of support for evaluation of target engagement and establishment of intervention parameters, and up to three years of support to replicate target engagement from prior studies and to test the association between target engagement and change in clinical outcome(s). Some key points to consider: • The intervention should be novel and based on recent scientific discoveries. • The application should include a clear description of the target engagement and the intervention parameters. • The study should include a clinical trial to test the efficacy of the intervention. • The application should include a detailed plan for the evaluation of the intervention. • The program is open to various types of organizations, including universities, non-profits, and small businesses.
