The National Park Service intends to award a single source justified cooperative agreement to American Conservation Experience for the Walnut Canyon Fencing and Trail Work project. The project aims to repair over 6 miles of boundary fence and reconstruct a 350 square foot drystone retaining wall, among other tasks. The project will take place within the Flagstaff Area National Monuments, Walnut Canyon National Monument. The recipient will be responsible for carrying out the statement of work, adhering to federal, state, and local laws, and providing a skilled crew with a crew leader, trail hand tools, and personal protective equipment. The National Park Service will provide monitoring and oversight, as well as technical assistance at the request of the recipient.
• The project will engage recipients, partners, communities, and visitors in shared environmental stewardship.
• The project will support the Government’s objective to provide opportunities for youth to learn about the environment by spending time working on projects in National Parks.
• The project will motivate its youth participants to become involved in the natural, cultural, and historical resource protection of their communities and beyond.
