The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) is issuing a Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) for various research and development topic areas. The ERDC consists of several laboratories, including the Coastal and Hydraulics Laboratory (CHL), the Geotechnical and Structures Laboratory (GSL), the Environmental Laboratory (EL), and the Information Technology Laboratory (ITL). The BAA is continuously open, and pre-proposals may be submitted and will be reviewed at any time throughout the year.
Some key research areas include:
• Hydraulic structures, such as locks, dams, and spillways
• Coastal engineering, including beach erosion and storm hazards
• Geotechnical engineering, including soil mechanics and foundation design
• Environmental conservation, including water quality and aquatic ecosystems
• Information technology, including computer science and high-performance computing
Proposals should clearly identify the research topic area and how it contributes to the enhancement and improvement of scientific, engineering, and/or educational activities.
