Description
The City of Salina is seeking a qualified contractor to construct a new scale house and associated entrance improvements at its Municipal Solid Waste Landfill. The work includes demolition of existing structures, extensive earthwork and grading, utility installation, construction of a concrete‑paved scale house building with two truck scales, related structural steel, electrical, plumbing, fencing, gate, lighting, and landscaping. This is a unit‑price contract; bidders will price listed quantities.
• Demolition of existing pavement and scale house, followed by excavation, cut‑and‑fill, and fine grading (≈ 5,340 cy & 26,330 sy).
• Installation of water, sewer, electrical (including generator) utilities and construction of the scale house building with steel‑deck scales, metal catwalks, and interior MEP systems.
• Concrete pavement (≈ 100 k sf), curbs, parking lot, fencing, remote‑operated gate, and site‑wide landscaping/seed‑mulch.
• Project schedule targets substantial completion by 31 Dec 2026 and final completion by 3 May 2027, with liquidated damages for late performance.
