RFQ Removal of Blighted Structures

The City of Syracuse is seeking qualified demolition/deconstruction contractors to remove blighted structures throughout the city. The RFQ does not solicit pricing; it evaluates each firm’s ability to comply with New York State labor, asbestos, and prevailing‑wage rules, obtain necessary permits, provide insurance, and meet the city’s Minority‑ and Women‑Business‑Enterprise (M/WBE) participation goals. Contractors will be required to disconnect utilities, demolish buildings and outbuildings, remove foundations, handle asbestos in accordance with NYSDOL Code Rule 56, recycle demolition debris where possible, and grade/seed the cleared sites. The contract will run for two years with a possible one‑year extension, and the city may award one or more contracts based on qualifications, experience, financial stability, and compliance with equity goals.
