66--Seismic equipment (IDIQ)

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) is seeking to award a firm fixed price, Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for seismic equipment. The equipment will be used for earthquake and volcano monitoring systems, including integrated systems and separate data acquisition units (DAUs) and sensors. The required instrumentation systems consist of three components: a triaxial force-balance accelerometer, triaxial strong-motion velocity seismometer, or triaxial broadband seismometer, a DAU, and software for communicating with deployed units. The scope of this action includes the requirement to provide all of the instrumentation components, including cables, connectors, related accessories, and ancillary equipment. Some key requirements include: * The systems must be existing, upgraded, or improved versions of models which can be purchased "off-the-shelf" and of a type or types that have been utilized in previous deployments for periods of not less than six (6) months. * The sensor must have an option for locking in place above the bottom of the borehole (known as a hole-lock). * The digitizer must be compatible with existing data acquisition software and allow for remote calibration of sensors. * The integrated systems are required to have lightweight sensors with integrated broadband and strong motion sensors all in one easy to carry and easy to deploy package.
