Description
The County is seeking a qualified contractor to perform a comprehensive streetscape improvement on Second Street from the Hayward city limits to Windfeldt Road in Fairview. The work includes traffic‑control planning, demolition of existing concrete and asphalt, new concrete curbs, gutters, pervious sidewalks, pavement resurfacing, utility relocations (EBMUD water, PG&E poles, sewer and storm‑drain assets), and associated permitting and regulatory compliance (including CARB off‑road diesel fleet certification). The project is locally funded with an engineer’s estimate of $5.225 million and a construction schedule of roughly 380 working days, starting after a notice to proceed anticipated in early 2026.
