FY26 USAFA DFPM Quantum Education Lab Kits

The US Air Force Academy is conducting market research to identify potential sources capable of providing a modular, turnkey Quantum Demonstration and Experiment System. The system should support educational, training, and research missions in quantum physics, specifically focusing on nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers, single-photon detection, and quantum entanglement. The required capabilities include a central control unit, detectors, time tagging electronics, and built-in analysis capabilities. The system should also include a nitrogen-vacancy (NV) module and an entanglement photonics module. • The system must be a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) system that meets or exceeds the specified technical characteristics. • The system should be capable of integrating with multiple interchangeable experiments via a central control unit. • The system should have four detectors configured as 2 Avalanche Photodiodes (APD) and 2 Photodiodes (PD). • The system should have time tagging electronics with picosecond jitter resolution. • The system should have single photon and coincidence events counting capability. • The system should have built-in capabilities allowing for analysis and processing of measurement data.
