Description

The City of American Canyon is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors for the dredging, dewatering, transportation, and land application of approximately 300 dry tons of Class B biosolids currently stored in the Sludge Storage Basins (SSBs) at the City’s Wastewater Treatment Facility located in American Canyon, California. The selected contractor shall be responsible for furnishing all labor, equipment, materials, permitting, and supervision necessary to complete the work in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The project involves mobilization, dredging, dewatering, transportation, and end use of the biosolids. The contractor must ensure compliance with Title 40 CFR Part 503, CalRecycle, Regional Water Quality Control Board, and California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) requirements. • The project requires the removal of biosolids from the sludge storage basins until the contract quantity is met or within six inches of the pond bottom. • The contractor must ensure minimal disturbance to basin liners and adjacent infrastructure. • The biosolids must be dewatered on-site using belt filter presses or centrifuges, or an approved equivalent. • The final cake consistency must be appropriate for transportation and meet all applicable land application criteria. • The dewatered biosolids must be loaded directly into trailers (no site storage available) and transported to approved land application sites within California.
