GEODYNAMO RESEARCH SERVICE

The NASA/NSSC is seeking a contractor to provide Geodynamo Research Service. The purpose of this work is to generate free-running numerical dynamo simulation solutions with an independent dynamo model to be used in the GSFC Geomagnetic Ensemble Modeling System (GEMS) for research purposes. The contractor will use an open-source geodynamo model to generate initial ensembles for GEMS. The scope of work includes performing free-running dynamo simulations, selecting numerical solutions, and delivering 1028 numerical dynamo solutions, Fortran subroutines, and documentation. The key aspects of this opportunity include: • The contractor will use an open-source geodynamo model to generate initial ensembles for GEMS. • The contractor will perform free-running dynamo simulations with numerical truncations and dynamo parameters equivalent to those used in the MoSST simulation settings. • The contractor will deliver 1028 numerical dynamo solutions, Fortran subroutines, and documentation describing simulation configurations, data formats, ensemble mean and STD.
