Structured Cabling

The University of Houston-Clear Lake is seeking a contractor to perform as-needed day-to-day installation of new blue Cat 6 and/or 6a data lines, troubleshooting of out-of-warranty lines, demolition of old cable plants, and other troubleshooting as needed. The contractor will be required to provide a comprehensive set of core services and benefits, including online access to relevant databases, compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations, and the ability to provide the University with requested reports. The contract is expected to be for a term of three years with the option to renew for two additional one-year terms, for a maximum of five years. • The contractor will be responsible for installing, testing, and terminating fiber lines, as well as performing other tasks related to structured cabling. • The contractor will be required to provide a cost for each of the standard tasks listed in the proposal. • The contractor will be evaluated based on their ability to fulfill current and predicted University needs, their professional experience, and their proposed operational plan. • The contractor will be required to maintain insurance coverage, including commercial general liability insurance, professional liability insurance, and workers' compensation insurance. • The contractor will be required to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and University policies.
