The 2026 Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF) supports projects led by alumni of U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs. The initiative encourages alumni to apply the skills and networks gained during their exchange experiences to implement projects that promote shared prosperity and strengthen U.S.–Rwanda partnerships. The Fund prioritizes initiatives led by alumni who are actively contributing to positive change in their communities while maintaining strong connections with U.S. institutions.
Key objectives of the project include:
• Foster commercial diplomacy through strategic U.S.–Rwanda partnerships
• Spotlight U.S. innovation in technology, higher education, and/or health
• Build job readiness and industry-specific skills for Rwandan youth and professionals
• Bring alumni together from different exchange programs to build or expand an alumni network
• Strengthen the relationship between alumni and the U.S. Embassy
• Support alumni as they develop their leadership capacity and implement projects in their communities
