Description
The State University of New York at Old Westbury is seeking bids for the Campus Center Steel Refurbishment Rebid project. The project involves surface preparation, coating application, and other related work. The contractor will be responsible for ensuring that all work is done in accordance with the contract documents and applicable laws and regulations. The project requires a mandatory site walk on October 23, 2025, at 11:30 am. The contract term is 6 months, and the project is subject to prevailing wage rates.
• Surface preparation to include solvent cleaning, commercial blast cleaning, and power-tool cleaning to bare metal
• Coating application, including primer, intermediate/tie coat, and finish/topcoat
• Environmental conditions, such as temperature, dew point, and relative humidity, must be met
• Safety measures, including personal protective equipment, ventilation, and hazardous materials handling
• Protection of existing structures, vegetation, and utilities
• Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including OSHA and National Electric Code
