Description

The Virginia Department of Energy seeks qualified contractors to perform comprehensive stream and site restoration work for the Brady Drainage II Project in Norton, Virginia. The scope includes removal of debris and vegetative overgrowth, channel clean‑out, installation of erosion control structures, and revegetation to restore the drainage system’s functional capacity and environmental compliance. This effort will support the Commonwealth’s water management objectives and improve local infrastructure resilience. • General cleaning of clogged streams and removal of vegetative overgrowth • Installation of rock check dams, VDOT Class 1 riprap, and other erosion control measures • Mobilization, site access road work, and chain‑link fencing as needed • Tree removal, landfill reimbursement, and post‑construction revegetation • Delivery of required materials such as VDOT No. 1 stone and crusher‑run stone

Budget estimate

$200,000 – $500,000

Based on the extensive scope—stream cleaning, multiple erosion control installations, mobilization, and revegetation—similar Virginia water‑resource projects typically range from a few hundred thousand to over a half‑million dollars. Assuming moderate site conditions and material costs, a reasonable estimate is $200,000 to $500,000. Factors influencing the final amount include the length of stream to be treated, volume of material (riprap, stone) required, and any unforeseen site access challenges.
