STEC Detection

The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is conducting market research to identify commercially available test kits that can detect and identify Shiga toxin‑producing Escherichia coli (STEC) in raw beef and other food matrices, with a particular interest in kits that can report stx‑subtype information. Respondents must provide company details, certification status, and technical capabilities of their STEC detection products. The RFI is purely informational; no contract will be awarded from these responses. • Required: detailed description of STEC detection kits, including stx‑subtype capability, performance metrics, matrix compatibility, and pricing per kit and ancillary supplies. • Must include business size, SBA socioeconomic certifications, SAM registration, CAGE/UEI, and any GSA Schedule contracts. • Submissions are to be emailed to the USDA contact by 12:00 p.m. ET on 8 December 2026.
