Description

The University of North Dakota’s Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC) is seeking an informal quote to remove four existing concrete‑filled bollards and install twenty‑one new concrete‑filled bollards on a campus site. The work includes demolition, concrete removal, placement of new 6‑in Schedule 40 steel pipe cores, concrete filling to 3000 psi strength, construction of matching concrete pads, and a safety‑yellow primer/paint finish. All materials must be new, U.S.‑produced, and meet the attached technical specifications. Bidders must submit a signed Bidder Information form, the completed bid form, and affirm they can meet the delivery deadline and include all costs in a single price. • Removal of 4 existing bollards and disposal of associated concrete. • Supply and installation of 21 new concrete‑filled bollards (7‑ft length, 4‑ft above grade, with 6‑in steel pipe core and 3000 psi concrete). • Finish with Rust‑Oleum safety‑yellow coating; new concrete pads must match existing paving. • All pricing must be FOB Destination and include any transportation, handling, and permit costs.

Budget estimate

$40,000 – $120,000

This is a modest‑size civil work package. Assuming an average cost of $2,000‑$5,000 per new bollard (including demolition, materials, labor, and finish) and a lower cost for removal of the existing four bollards, the total contract value is likely between $45,000 and $110,000. Factors influencing the range include local labor rates in Grand Forks, ND, the cost of the specialized safety‑yellow coating, and any site‑specific conditions (e.g., access, utility conflicts).
