Guardrail Repair, Replacement, and New Installation

The City of Chesapeake is soliciting bids from qualified bidders to provide all labor, equipment, materials, transportation, supervision, and necessary permits and fees required to repair, replace and install new guardrails on an as needed basis for the City during the contract period stated. Work shall be in accordance with all specifications, terms, and conditions herein. The scope of work includes repair, replacement and installation of new guardrails located along City-maintained roads, to include all necessary traffic control, on an “as needed” basis once notified by the City. The contractor shall furnish the necessary equipment to perform the job in a safe and efficient manner and design and establish a work zone in accordance with the Virginia WAPM. Some key tasks and deliverables include: • Replacing damaged guardrail “W” and “T” beam in kind • Replacing or repairing damaged or non-existent anchors of varying types as directed • Installation of new guardrail • Replacement, repair, or upgrading posts, beams, anchors, end treatments, delineators/reflectors, etc. to meet local, state, and federal requirements • Removal and disposal of existing guardrail and terminals • Shoulder restoration The City reserves the right to make multiple awards as a result of this solicitation. The award(s) will be made to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder(s), based on Grand Total Bid of Section, Pricing Schedule, and meeting the requirements of the solicitation.
