The Fiscal Year 2024 Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) is a grant program that supports the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) focus on enhancing the ability of state, local, tribal, and territorial governments, as well as nonprofits, to prevent, protect against, prepare for, and respond to terrorist or other extremist attacks. The program provides funding to nonprofit organizations to improve and increase their physical/cyber security and facility/target hardening to enhance the protection of soft targets/crowded places.
• The program has two funding sources: NSGP - Urban Area (NSGP-UA) and NSGP - State (NSGP-S).
• NSGP-UA funds nonprofit organizations located within FY 2024 Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI)-designated high-risk urban areas.
• NSGP-S funds nonprofit organizations located outside of a FY 2024 UASI-designated high-risk urban area.
• The program's goal is to improve and increase the physical/cyber security and facility/target hardening of nonprofit organizations' facilities at risk of a terrorist or other extremist attack.
• The program requires applicants to provide a detailed investment justification, including a vulnerability assessment, a description of proposed facility hardening activities, and a project management plan.
