The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking sources capable of providing a mini fragment plating system that can address the attached list of Salient Characteristic requirements for the Loma Linda VAMC. The system must have variable angle optimized locking technology, provide a variable angle locking mechanism, and have tightly tolerance screw hole threads for enhanced plate to screw engagement. The system should be designed for internal fracture fixation of bones and bone fragments of the appendicular skeleton and provide a minimum of 1 Newton-meter (Nm) of torque to fully lock screw into plates.
Some key features of the required system include:
• Variable angle optimized locking technology
• Variable angle locking mechanism that allows variable angels up to +/-15deg (30 deg cone) without losing stability
• Tightly tolerance screw hole threads for enhanced plate to screw engagement
• Combination holes that integrate the variable angle locking zone
• Two screw types: cortex and locking screw
• Ability to treat patient anatomy with 2.4mm and 2.7mm screw options and lengths up to 90mm
• Screw must be available in 1mm increments and up to 20mm
• Threaded cone drill guide and provide +/-15 deg of angulation
• Diameter specific depth gauges enabling full thread engagement of the screw
