Showalter Road at Perini Avenue Intersection Improvements

The project involves reconfiguring the intersection of Showalter Road and Perini Avenue from a full movement to a right-in/right-out traffic pattern. The work includes reconstructing the existing concrete island, constructing a new concrete median, widening Showalter Road, relocating traffic barriers, and installing new line striping and signage. The project must be completed in accordance with the Maryland Department of Transportation, State Highway Administration "Standard Specifications for Construction and Materials" and the Special Provisions included in the Invitation for Bids. • The project requires the contractor to examine the site and satisfy themselves with the conditions that may affect the work. • The contractor must provide bid security in the form of a bond, bank certified check, or bank cashier's check in the amount of 5% of the total bid. • The contractor must agree to commence work within 10 calendar days of receipt of the "Notice to Proceed" and complete the project within 100 consecutive calendar days. • The contractor must pay liquidated damages of $100 for each consecutive calendar day of delay. • The contractor must provide satisfactory Payment and Performance Bonds for the full amount of the Contract.
