Description
The City of Salina is soliciting bids for the demolition of the existing scale house and truck scale, construction of a new scale‑house building, installation of two steel‑deck truck scales, extensive site grading, pavement replacement, and associated utility work at its municipal solid‑waste landfill. The contract is a firm unit‑price bid with 38 primary items plus five add‑alt items. Work must commence within 60 days of bid opening and achieve substantial completion of the scale house and scales by 31 December 2026, with final payment readiness by 3 May 2027.
• Demolition of existing scale house and scale (Bid Item 34)
• New “Scale House” building with full MEP, structural, and architectural systems (Bid Item 35) and a remote‑operated gate (Bid Item 31)
• Installation of two inbound/outbound truck scales with concrete pads and utilities (Bid Item 36)
• Site earthwork, grading, new gravel and concrete pavement, curb, and utility installation (Bid Items 18‑25, 3‑8)
• Required performance/payment bonds, insurance, and a 5 % bid security; liquidated damages apply after 31 Dec 2026.
